About The Position

The Financial Analyst supports the financial health and strategic decision-making of the medical group by conducting detailed financial modeling, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. This role works closely with clinical and administrative leaders to evaluate financial performance, optimize revenue cycle operations, assess service-line profitability, and ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, Economics, or related field required.
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, operations analysis, or healthcare analytics.
  • Experience in a medical group, hospital, or healthcare system strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Advanced Excel; proficiency in Power BI/Tableau a plus.
  • Experience working with EHR/PM systems (Epic, Cerner, Athena, etc.).
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and performance dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and operational outcomes.
  • Support the annual budget development process for all service lines, departments, and clinics.
  • Analyze patient volume trends, payer mix, reimbursement patterns, and charge capture processes.
  • Partner with billing and coding teams to identify revenue leakage, monitor denials, and evaluate collection performance.
  • Conduct cost-benefit studies to support operational changes, equipment purchases, or new service offerings.
  • Perform service-line profitability analysis, physician productivity evaluations, and clinic performance reviews.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership to support strategic initiatives such as expansion, contract negotiations, or clinical program development.
  • Support value-based care and quality incentive programs through financial tracking and performance modeling.
  • Ensure financial processes adhere to healthcare regulations, payer contracts, and internal policies.
  • Assist in internal and external audit preparation by gathering data and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate financial data and assist with process improvements for reporting accuracy and efficiency.
