About The Position

Freddie Mac is seeking a senior developer to join the Credit Innovation and Analytics (CIA) team in the Single-Family division. This position will play an important role in developing, enhancing, and maintaining CIA’s suite of applications, models, and tools used for the automated evaluation of borrowers’ capacity (assets, income, employment). The role requires strong software development and analytical skills for implementing new products and optimizing/expanding existing ones. The CIA team owns credit policy and analytics related to a borrower's ability to repay a mortgage and is responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions to automate the manual processes of assessing borrower assets and income using big data, analytics, and third-party service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in developing analytic and production quality software, following industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, and Java.
  • Familiarity with AWS EKS and Python web services frameworks such as Flask, Fast API or Django.
  • Hands-on experience in well-disciplined, full-stack and full-life-cycle software development.
  • Fluency in development tools such as Make, Git, shell scripts, gdb, pdb, SQL, RDBMS.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced studies/degree preferred.
  • Experience in model implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Model, implement, and test business rules in complex analytics software involving machine learning and data analysis algorithms.
  • Use best practices in software development to create and maintain scalable, robust, reliable, maintainable, and elegant software.
  • Work with business analysts to translate business requirements into software specifications.
  • Develop automated testing strategies and tools, conduct testing, and present results.
