About The Position

Guides financial staff performing work for the UW Systemwide Shared Supplier team area and participates in day-to-day financial operations to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and reports, and/or supervises staff. Recommends and implements fiscal policies and advises on development of processes in support of efficient and compliant reporting.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting, finance, or business administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP Financial Systems.
  • Ability to manage a team to contribute to the efficient operation of the work unit and provide constructive feedback on their operation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work duties, and demonstrate effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier set up and management, including onboarding new vendors, verifying documentation, and maintaining accurate supplier records in procurement systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes financial information and makes recommendations to unit leadership
  • Plans, directs, and engages in financial and/or accounting operations for multiple areas; coordinates data management, budget preparation and management, and financial reporting efforts
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to unit leadership regarding financial operations, status and reporting, and recommends process improvements
  • Participates in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of automated financial information systems
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
  • Recommends, interprets, disseminates, and implements unit-focused fiscal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with established rule, regulations and financial guidelines
  • Identifies, verifies, and audits financial charges, credits, and authorizes payments
  • Manage and oversee the UW Systemwide Shared Supplier File and Supplier module in Jaggaer
