This is a highly responsible position located in the Division of Public Health Statistics and Performance Management (division) that directs professional staff in program planning, data systems management, procurement, communications and contract management. The incumbent in this position is responsible for all supervisory duties including but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning, and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. The incumbent is also responsible for administration, and resolution of operational and management problems as they relate to the activities of the section. Provide guidance in program design, administration, monitoring, evaluation, analysis, community outreach and staff development. Coordinates activities of staff to ensure continuing operations, best use of time and increased productivity. This position requires the incumbent to be knowledgeable of policies, data, technologies, and issues related to access to health care and underserved communities. The incumbent works with other individuals, agencies, organizations, and groups in developing and promoting policies, processes, technical solutions, and rules that improve access to health care. This position requires excellent communication, computer, and data analysis skills; highly effective procurement and contract management skills; and the ability to work independently and effectively with Department personnel, county health departments, local health care providers, federal governmental agencies, and other organizations, associations, and community representatives.
