About The Position

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Financial Management/Budget Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to directly support the United States Space Force (USSF) by providing expert financial management, budgeting, and resource analysis in support of critical mission requirements. The ideal candidate will bring extensive financial management expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and a thorough understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) financial processes. In this role, you will provide strategic financial guidance and actionable recommendations that support informed decision-making, effective resource allocation, and continued USSF mission success.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • 15+ years of relevant Department of Defense (DoD) financial management, budgeting, program management, or related experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process
  • Demonstrated experience supporting POM and President’s Budget submissions and analyzing program financial posture
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing program execution using financial management systems and automated tools such as CRIS and SAFES
  • Demonstrated ability to perform independent financial assessments and develop recommendations for senior leadership
  • Experience supporting complex DoD programs from requirements development through execution and completion
  • Experience providing strategic financial guidance and technical recommendations within a mission-focused environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or overseeing junior staff
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Support System Delta 81 (SYD 81) and the Portfolio Acquisition Executive – Infrastructure (PAE-I) in advancing U.S. Space Force readiness and operational agility
  • Provide financial management and budget expertise in support of USSF programs involving data management, training and test capabilities, and personnel management infrastructure
  • Monitor the financial execution of assigned programs using automated financial management tools such as CRIS and SAFES
  • Conduct independent assessments of U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force financial posture and provide PAE-I leadership with informed recommendations and decision options
  • Analyze the current financial landscape in relation to the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, including Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and President’s Budget (PB) submissions
  • Develop, manage, and oversee financial and program requirements throughout the project lifecycle for complex and highly complex programs
  • Provide strategic advice, technical guidance, and subject matter expertise to program leadership and staff
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and evaluations and provide actionable recommendations to address mission-critical challenges, improve processes, and optimize program execution
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee less-experienced staff and coordinate personnel assigned to specific projects or initiatives
  • Travel to government and industry locations, as required, to support program management activities and mission requirements
