This position requires an active T1 clearance or the ability to obtain a T1 clearance to be considered. The role involves maintaining journals or subsidiary ledgers of an accounting system, and balancing and reconciling accounts. The Financial Management Assistant II will review invoices and statements, verify information, ensure sufficient funds have been obligated, and resolve questionable items with the submitting unit to determine accounts involved. Responsibilities include coding transactions, processing material through data processing for application in the accounting system, developing expertise in the Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS), and providing analysis and reconciliation of computer printouts with operating unit reports. This involves contacting units, researching causes of discrepancies, and taking action to ensure accounts balance. Other job-related duties as assigned.
