This position is a trainee role where the incumbent will assist higher-level examiners and receive training in performing on-site exams of records, documents, or other data to ascertain compliance with State/Federal laws and regulations applicable to state-chartered credit unions. For training purposes, the role involves evaluating and analyzing data and financial statements to determine the accuracy and appropriateness of controls, policies, and procedures of programs and services to ensure the safety and soundness of the institution's operations. The position also includes completing writing assignments, such as documenting examination findings and scope narratives, to develop skills for detailed examination reports. The trainee will attend and participate in meetings related to credit union examinations to discuss findings and provide routine advice and assistance. This role requires learning and retaining knowledge of applicable State/Federal statutes and regulations governing the credit union industry, establishing and maintaining effective public relations with credit union officials, and recognizing and reporting existing and potential problems. The position also involves participating in and completing various required trainings and performing other assigned duties. Travel is often required for this duty.
