About The Position

The Financial Forecast Analyst I under direct supervision, utilizing statistical (econometric) modeling techniques, maintains or prepares solutions to a variety of complex energy, economic, and forecasting projects. Assists in a variety of research and studies on topics that impact energy and revenue forecasting, such as energy demand & sales, load characteristics, customer base, and economics. Assists preparation of findings and recommendations to Management. Assists strategic planning and analysis. Regularly interacts with senior members of the team on significant matters.

Requirements

  • Degree in economics, statistics, finance, mathematics, or a related field
  • One (1) year prior directly related experience in basic data management and developing research.
  • Basic knowledge of economic analysis and financial principals.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of econometrics; economic analysis, regression analysis, statistics, and financial principles
  • Basic knowledge of at least one of the following coding languages: SAS, R, Python, or Stata.

Responsibilities

  • Assists on a variety of analyses and reporting to provide ongoing information, compiles relevant information, makes comparisons, and evaluates results.
  • Assists preparation of a variety of economic data, information, and studies in a clear, concise format.
  • Assists in the development of department strategies and economic models to accurately reflect impacts of new regulations and market events on the Company's financial performance.
  • Administers basic department programs by maintaining knowledge of each and preparing ongoing analyses.
  • Assists in a variety of analyses and resolution of economic cost issues based on current industry standards.
  • Builds basic knowledge of the primary emerging issues facing the industry and company business specifics.
  • Builds basic understanding of company, unit policies and procedures, accounting practices, and federal and state regulations.
  • Provides support to other team members to enhance development and productivity.
  • Ensures compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation, files, records, or systems.
