Cardinal Technology Systems Corp. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Financial Data Scientist to work for our company. This role provides expert support to run analysis and analytical experiments using both structured and unstructured data. The Financial Data Scientist evaluates alternate models via theoretical approaches and supports financial data modeling, formulation, and analytical model development to improve business and operational decision-making. They will use Python and other analytical tools to support data analysis, modeling, data validation, and reporting activities. The role involves identifying and exploiting data assets, creating new patterns and business value, and creating analyses and models to improve customer and operational Key Process Indicators (KPIs). The Financial Data Scientist will enhance measurable value for the Agency and its customers by building predictive models and developing advanced algorithms that extract and classify information from large datasets. They will analyze data and develop robust statistical and predictive algorithms/models that drive product outputs, identify meaningful patterns and trends, and expose new business opportunities. The role requires translating results into understandable and actionable output that answers real business questions. The position involves working with modules and process areas such as Acquire to Retire (A2R), Cost Accounting (CA), User Management (UMX), Time & Labor (T&L), Procure to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C), Budget to Report (B2R), and Custom Application Development (CAD) Support Services. The Financial Data Scientist will support Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) financial process areas, including USSGL, B2R, P2P, O2C, and A2R. Additionally, the role includes developing data conversion templates, pre/post conversion checklist/steps, data conversion design documents, data conversion status reports, and data conversion migration plans. The position also provides expertise in COOP development and implementation, including disaster recovery planning, testing, support, recovery restoration, and system reconstitution. The Financial Data Scientist will analyze financial and ERP data sets, collaborate with hosting provider’s teams, including Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, and Continuity/Disaster Recovery Teams, and execute COOP exercises such as tabletop, simulation/remote recovery, and full failover exercises. The role involves maintaining and enhancing the DAI Information System Contingency Plan (ISCP) and analyzing and upgrading COOP design to align with software upgrades and technical changes. The Financial Data Scientist will also evaluate new technologies like Oracle Golden Gate for COOP environment re-architecture. Travel to the client site in Washington, DC approximately 25% annually is required.
