About The Position

Benesch is seeking a Financial Data Analyst for their Cleveland office. This position is hybrid and offers work from home flexibility. The role is a blend of accounting and IS, focusing on preparing ad hoc reports for financial analysis, and assisting with the development, automation, and implementation of financial models, reports, budgets, and forecasts. Experience with SQL and Power BI is required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business intelligence, data engineering or business administration
3-5 years of data analysis experience
Advanced proficiency in SQL queries
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and perform under tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service attitude

Experience in financial analysis and modeling preferred

Responsibilities

Assists in preparation of monthly financial reports and graphs for firm management.
Works with SQL to query, merge and analyze large sets of data.
Analyzes and understands business requirements and create reports to support needs.
Utilizes Power BI and other business intelligence software to build interactive dashboards and reports.
Functions as an important resource for practice group leaders, department heads and senior staff regarding their reporting needs.
Performs detailed analysis on Power BI reports to determine areas for improvement.
Leads the development of reports using SQL, Excel, Power BI and other analytical tools.
Processes, cleans, and validates data for predictive analysis and data modeling.
Collaborates with multiple departments across the firm to analyze and automate business needs.
Identifies and assesses the current performance and historical trends across all practice groups and departments.
