Responsible for accurate, timely and complete documentation regarding insurance verification, billing and collections. This role involves auditing admission packets, verifying benefits, and ensuring patient demographic information is accurate in the patient accounting system. The Financial Counselor will also be responsible for the financial counseling of patients and/or guarantors, collecting out-of-pocket expenses, and providing information about benefits and financial obligations. Additionally, the role includes completing financial disclosure paperwork for patients requesting assistance, verifying income and expenses, completing adjustment forms for charity or administrative adjustments, and creating promissory notes for payment arrangements. Daily updates to collection logs and weekly reviews with the BOD are also key responsibilities. The position requires gathering and interpreting data to initiate time-sensitive and strategic steps for payment.
