The Financial Counselor will also verify insurance benefits, ensure pre-authorization requirements are met, and assist in resolving claim denials. Additionally, this role supports the revenue cycle by managing Financial Clearance Work queues, providing Good Faith Estimates, and maintaining accurate patient demographic and financial data in the EHR system. The position requires superior customer service skills, a friendly, professional, and empathetic approach, and collaboration with clinical teams to ensure financial processes do not delay care. The Financial Counselor will also stay up-to-date on federal, state, and hospital financial policies to ensure compliance and identify process improvements.
