About The Position

At MARC, Inc. of Manchester, we provide supports to people with disabilities in Manchester, CT and surrounding towns and we are currently looking to add a Financial Coordinator to our team! The Financial Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the financial health of the organization. This position is responsible for day-to-day financial operations, including managing accounts payable/receivable, processing payroll, tracking grants and donations, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to supporting the mission of serving individuals with disabilities. This is a Full-Time position with a schedule of 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday - Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. Job description is subject to change at the discretion of the Financial Director. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in the financial or bookkeeping role, preferable in a nonprofit setting
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of accrual accounting, budget preparation and analysis, preferably in a non-profit accounting.
  • Ability to analyze situations and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to transport people served if needed.
  • Must be able to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving.
  • Ability to stand, sit, use a telephone, and type at a computer.
  • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Therap, Paycom’s payroll system and MIP/Abila accounting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the financial assistant and oversee daily workflow to ensure efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Monitors revenue and expenditures of all DDS contracts as well as prepares a monthly utilization report.
  • Reviews and submits Agency attendance billing to DDS, ensuring accuracy and timely follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Oversees the Agency’s general ledger, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations and generating financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with department managers to monitor program budgets and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Manages the Agency’s fixed assets, including tracking, reporting and overseeing depreciation schedules in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare financial reports for board.
  • Reviews all cash receipts and cash flow report.
  • Supports annual audits, including preparation of documentation and responding to auditor request.
  • Process payroll for people served in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Manages key transportation operations for the Agency, including Department of Transportation reporting, mileage approval, administration of ADA tickets and oversight of the fleet cards.
  • Monitors and tracks documentation related to state, federal and local grants or donations.
  • Reviews and analyzes Agency insurance policies and processes amendments.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable financial regulations and nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Performs other duties as designated by the Financial Director.
