About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting, and reporting activities across a multi-branch, $50M+ revenue services business owned by CPS Capital. This individual will lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, coordinate with HR team member and manage external finance vendors where applicable. The Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of controllership, bookkeeping, audit, tax, compliance, and financial reporting for the organization.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in public accounting/audit and followed by industry experience in a multi-entity business.
  • Excellent accounting knowledge, including familiarity with US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in working with multiple systems, including leveraging technology and integrations to automate accounting processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and natural attention to detail and order.
  • University or College Degree.

  • CPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all accounting systems and processes, ensuring accounting best practices and GAAP requirements are adhered to, ultimately resulting in timely and accurate books.
  • Manage monthly and annual close process, consolidation, and preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Maintain robust internal controls.
  • Manage audit and tax engagements.
  • Ensure corporate compliance.
  • Manage the accounting vendors to efficiently achieve these objectives.
  • Manage enterprise risk, including oversight of insurance programs (in conjunction with HR counterpart).
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives across accounting and finance functions.
  • Lead or support CRM and financial system implementations and enhancements, including integration with accounting platforms, ensuring data integrity, reporting alignment, and user adoption.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited structure, demonstrating the ability to bring clarity, prioritize competing demands, and execute with minimal direction.
  • Self-starter with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, capable of independently identifying issues, developing practical solutions, and driving them through to completion.
