About The Position

We are seeking a Financial Controller to help lead the accounting operations of a large, fast-paced resort environment. This opportunity is well suited for either an early-career Controller or an experienced Senior Accountant ready to take the next step into Controller-level responsibility. The strongest candidates will bring hands-on hospitality accounting experience and experience supporting the financial operations of multiple properties. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will oversee daily accounting activities, financial reporting, payroll, internal controls, and the development of the accounting team while serving as a financial partner to resort leadership. The Financial Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting while ensuring strong accounting practices, internal controls, and operational support. This role oversees several core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, night audit, payroll, general ledger activities, and management reporting. The Controller will also oversee payroll for more than 1,000 associates and provide financial analysis and insight to operational and executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Progressive Finance or Accounting experience
  • Hospitality accounting experience
  • Experience managing or supporting financials across multiple properties
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis experience
  • General ledger and account reconciliation experience
  • Month-end and year-end close experience
  • Knowledge of internal controls
  • Experience with accounting and payroll systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements
  • Oversee general ledger activities and month-end and year-end close processes
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare and review journal entries
  • Analyze financial results and provide meaningful variance explanations
  • Ensure timely and accurate management reporting
  • Oversee daily accounting operations across multiple resort functions
  • Provide oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage income audit and night audit accounting activities
  • Support financial operations across multiple properties
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
  • Oversee payroll processing for more than 1,000 associates
