About The Position

BizTek People is in search for a Financial Control Consultant (AVP) for our client in NYC! This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong financial reporting, general ledger, and month-end close experience who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
5+ years of accounting experience in both public and private environments, preferably within financial services.
Strong understanding of US GAAP.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Comfortable working independently and collaborating across teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice To Haves

CPA designation preferred.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and driven to add value through high-quality financial reporting and analysis.
You should be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

Perform monthly and quarterly close activities in accordance with US GAAP.
Prepare account reconciliations and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and regulatory reporting.
Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for management and key stakeholders.
Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
Stay current on accounting standards and ensure compliance in assigned responsibilities.
Develop an understanding of business operations and financial processes.
Partner with internal and external auditors by providing requested documentation and support.
Assist with finance system enhancements and special projects.
