About The Position

CLA is a top 10 national professional services firm dedicated to creating opportunities for clients, people, and communities through industry-focused wealth advisory, digital, audit, tax, consulting, and outsourcing services. CLA is seeking a Manager/Director to join its growing Healthcare team. This role involves specialized work with healthcare clients, such as hospitals and skilled nursing facilities, to help them secure funding for their services. The position requires assuming responsibility for planning, supervising, and controlling prospective financial reporting processes, leading financial modeling and feasibility engagements, and developing a strong team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm, with demonstrated progression in leading engagements and managing client relationships.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the ability to clearly document assumptions and explain results to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to clients and coordinating with bankers, underwriters, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA license.
  • Knowledge of (and experience building) financial models and feasibility analyses, including tax-exempt financing concepts (e.g., bond financing) for healthcare and/or senior living projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for planning, supervising, and controlling all phases of the Firm’s prospective financial reporting processes for Healthcare and other regulated industry clients as delegated by Principals.
  • Assume in-charge responsibility; plan the timing, staffing and execution of financial modeling and feasibility engagements to promote the most efficient operation and deliver value to our clients.
  • Lead the decision-making process for assigned engagements/clients; keep the Engagement Principal fully informed of major decisions and the engagement progress.
  • Develop a responsible and trained team through assistance in recruiting, planning assignments, resolving problems, providing direct consultation to staff, evaluating staff performance, and acting as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
  • Supervise preparation of the financial models for approval by the Engagement Principal, discuss the nature and assumptions of the engagement with the client, working groups of attorney, bankers, and underwriters, and ensure the engagement paces with the transaction.
  • Monitor engagement progress against budgets and deadlines; communicate important developments, conclusions, and recommendations to the Engagement Principal; provide ongoing attention to client management; and lead preparation for final client meetings.
