About The Position

Popular Insurance Sales - NY Metro is searching for a Financial Consultant with strong investment sales experience to join their dynamic Popular Investment team. This is a commission-based position. In this role, the Financial Consultant will evaluate customers' financial needs, current holdings, and available investment capital by listening to and uncovering their needs. They will educate clients about the bank and investment program products and services most appropriate for their situation, help clients identify their investment objectives, and proactively seek information from prospects and clients to understand possible changing situations, needs, and desired benefits, evaluating product or service alternatives. The consultant will also establish and maintain thorough prospect files, review and access them on a scheduled basis, and monitor customer portfolios, making recommendations consistent with changes in economic and financial conditions, as well as the customer's needs and objectives.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED and at least four years of related experience in financial services or retail organization is required.
  • FINRA Series 7 AND 63, and NY State Life and Health Insurance licensing required.
  • Series 65 or 66 must be obtained within 180 days of start date.
  • Knowledge of financial products and services related to investment activities. Examples include: Securities, Annuities, Life Insurance, Funds Flow Analysis, Investment Operations, and application of rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability to successfully identify customer needs and recommend the most appropriate product or service based on those needs.
  • Excellent sales ability, presentation, marketing, and negotiation skills.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. This position is not open to applicants who need visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship at this time.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred along with relevant years of experiences.
