About The Position

The Financial Coach reports to the Antioch Site Manager, providing financial assessment, benefits screening, and coaching to low-income, formerly incarcerated and homeless clients. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Rubicon transforms East Bay communities by equipping people to break the cycle of poverty. Recognized as a national leader in workforce development, Rubicon provides individualized one-on-one career advising, job search support, financial education, wellness and legal services, to very low-income people who face significant barriers to achieving economic mobility. Requirements

Strong relationship-building and interpersonal flexibility, solid organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
A robust understanding of personal finances, particularly in the areas of budgeting, asset building, and credit building.
Experience involving the successful provision of services to formerly incarcerated, homeless, and/or low-income individuals.
Cultural Responsiveness and an alignment with our values and commitment to equity and inclusion.
If the employee opts to meet these travel requirements by driving, proof of a valid and current driver's license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.

If you don’t currently possess our organizational core competencies of Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Coaching, Rubicon provides necessary training.

Responsibilities

Financial Coaching including marketing the value of financial fluency to clients, financial plan development, workshop facilitation, one-on-one coaching to help clients achieve personal financial goals, coordinating the provision of financial services to clients, and coordinating the VITA tax preparation services.
Benefit Screening Services including assessing and screening clients for public benefits eligibility, and assisting clients to apply for and secure public benefits.
Client and Partner Outreach including developing relationships with local financial institutions and community organizations, and connecting prospective clients with Rubicon services and/or referral to outside resources when appropriate.
