About The Position

America Works of Washington, Inc., a socially conscious company, is seeking a Financial Coach to support participant financial stability and long-term economic mobility for a workforce development program serving Mason & Pacific Counties. Women, minorities, and bilingual or multilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply. Candidate must be willing to travel to multiple locations during the week on a rotating schedule as needed. This role focuses on helping individuals address financial barriers that impact employment, including budgeting, credit, debt, and income stability. The Financial Coach works closely with the team to align financial goals with career plans and may support participants in building savings and assets through strategies such as Matched Investment Savings Accounts (MISA). By strengthening financial capability, this role improves participant retention, supports successful employment outcomes, and helps individuals progress toward long-term financial security. The ideal candidate holds a 4-year degree, has experience in case management or financial coaching with strong communication and organizational skills, and is passionate about helping low-income and underserved job seekers achieve financial security and find employment.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel between multiple locations on a rotating schedule
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Able to meet deadlines and have a high degree of flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities
  • Passion for serving individuals from disadvantaged and underserved populations, including but not limited to: public assistance recipients, justice-involved individuals, persons with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessness

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 4-year degree, relevant experience and/or advanced studies a plus
  • Experience in financial coaching, case management, or a related participant-facing role preferred
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive/SharePoint preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial coaching, budgeting, and goal setting
  • Identify and address financial barriers to employment
  • Support credit building, debt management, and savings strategies
  • Facilitate participation in MISA and other asset-building efforts
  • Coordinate services across the Career Success Team
  • Recruit, enroll, and assess participants
  • Improve participant stability and retention in employment
  • Support long-term wage progression and economic mobility
  • Increase participant capacity to achieve financial goals and asset ownership
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date participant case files and case notes in accordance with program and data quality requirements
