The Department of Chemistry is a dynamic academic unit within the College of Computational, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, supporting approximately 6,000 undergraduate students annually, more than 60 graduate students, 19 faculty members, and 15 regular full-time staff. The department manages a diverse portfolio of teaching, research, outreach, and service activities, with an annual operating budget of approximately $6 million and a research enterprise comprising approximately 70 grants. Reporting to the Administrative Officer, the Financial Clerk plays a critical role in supporting the department's financial and operational activities. The position is responsible for coordinating and administering the purchasing process for teaching laboratories, stockroom operations, administrative functions, and specialized departmental facilities, including the Electronics Shop and X-ray Facility.
