About The Position

Community Teamwork is a private non-profit organization located in Lowell MA. We employee over 600 employees and are a catalyst for social change. We leverage our programs, our partnerships, and our collective voice to foster equity, compassion, and community engagement by creating housing, education, and economic opportunities. The Financial Career Coach will be responsible for providing job search, job readiness skills and referrals for job training with a goal to help individuals attain a living wage. The Financial Career Coach will coach clients on ways to reduce barriers to maintaining employment including working closely with the Senior Financial Education Staff.

Requirements

  • Prior related experience is required
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Good attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Understanding of basic personal finance management
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and maintain confidentiality of information
  • Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk individuals
  • Strong ability to problem solve
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low-income households
  • Public speaking and outreach skills
  • Crisis management skills
  • Ability to travel to various work sites
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to pass background check

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness to obtain a resume and cover letter writing certification.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Khmer English/Portuguese)

Responsibilities

  • Work on the Financial Education Center (FEC) team to provide all financial education and employment services programming including researching, developing and implementing FEC programming on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide case management to clients on a regular basis; Identify services needed for members� personal, educational/or skill development to enhance employability.
  • Create individual employment goals.
  • Create personal finance management goals.
  • Work to reduce employment barriers by providing resources, supports and referrals.
  • Provide internal and external wrap around services to clients throughout job placement.
  • Perform intake and data collection as per all funding source requirements
  • Maintain accurate participant records and prepare reports as required
  • Assist in the development of partnerships with local agencies and other community resources
  • Work with team members on planning and implementation of career development workshops and events throughout the year

  • Other related duties may be assigned.
