About The Position

This senior-level Financial Applications Support role supports financial and enterprise business applications and the business processes they enable. It is a hands-on applications position—not a financial analyst or software-development role—working between Finance, Accounting, business users, IT, developers, and third-party vendors. The role combines production support, SQL-based data investigation, integration troubleshooting, financial data analysis, testing, system enhancements, and project leadership. The successful candidate investigates application and transaction issues, performs root-cause analysis, and works through resolution, including researching data with SQL and examining system integrations and data flows. The role also owns application enhancements from requirements gathering and scope definition through coordination, testing, implementation, and release. The position is remote within Texas and is contract-to-hire, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST. After-hours production support may be required.

Requirements

10+ years of systems support, applications support, business systems analysis, or closely related experience.
Strong financial software or application background.
Strong understanding of financial business processes and how systems support them.
5+ years of ERP experience.
Hands-on SQL experience, including the ability to write original queries and use JOINs to query multiple tables.
Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, and experience with delimited or flat files.
Software integration experience.
Strong understanding of data structures and data flow.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) experience.
Application troubleshooting and root-cause analysis experience.
Project management or project leadership experience.
Experience leading application enhancements from requirements through implementation.
Agile/Scrum experience.
Strong UAT, regression testing, and test-plan experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent specialized professional experience.

Eclipse ERP experience.
API experience.
Experience with Oracle and Linux.
Experience supporting applications such as Eclipse, Oracle, Billtrust, GetPaid, TM1, or Kofax, or other ERP, accounting, tax, treasury, accounts receivable/payable, procurement, or financial applications.

Responsibilities

Support financial and enterprise business applications and their associated business processes.
Act as a liaison among Finance, Accounting, business users, IT, developers, and third-party vendors.
Investigate production issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
Write SQL queries to research application, transaction, and data issues, including work with JOINs and multiple tables.
Perform system fixes and data maintenance when appropriate.
Troubleshoot software integrations and data movement between systems, including flat or delimited files, FTP processes, and applicable API-based integrations.
Analyze financial and transactional data to identify discrepancies and trends.
Use advanced Excel features, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
Gather and document business and system requirements.
Develop epics, features, user stories, and backlog items for application enhancements.
Develop and execute test plans and test scripts, and perform regression testing and UAT.
Support Agile/Scrum development and release activities.
Lead application projects and enhancements from planning through implementation.
Work with stakeholders to define project scope, schedule, budget, goals, and deliverables.
Coordinate business, technical, and vendor resources.
Develop user documentation and training materials, and conduct system demonstrations.
Participate in production support, including after-hours support when required.
