About The Position

VTG is seeking a Financial Analyst (Mid) to support the Navy located at the Washington Navy Yard. The position is 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field
  • EVM professional certification or DAU Cost Estimating or Financial Management Practitioner Credential
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience related to labor category
  • Proficient skills associated with the labor category
  • Performs complex tasks independently
  • Completes assigned tasks on time and to a standard that is satisfactory or better
  • Provides guidance and oversight to contractors at the junior and mid experience levels

Nice To Haves

  • 7 years professional experience related to labor category
  • Experience supporting a DoD component

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial management support for a branch, office, organization, or department.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Measure organizational performance; assess the effects of various programs and policies on the budget.
  • Examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
  • Employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
  • Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect the organization’s spending.
  • Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets.
  • Conduct training sessions for company or government agency personnel regarding new budget procedures.
  • Coordinate financial activities across various stakeholders.
  • Manage finances across multiple funding types.
  • Track budgets, costs, and variances.
  • Produce executive summaries.
  • Conduct financial reporting and analyses on financial issues and customer requirements.
  • Develop and propose courses of actions (COAs) and recommendations for financial issues.
  • Interpret and apply financial management principles.
  • Apply financial management processes, techniques, policies, regulations and organizational strategic goals.
