Requirements

  • University or college degree in accounting, finance or business administration
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a financial reporting role
  • Home building and/or land development experience required
  • Experience with any accounting software packages and ability to quickly learn new software packages
  • Advanced Excel skills including regular use of functions, pivot tables and macros
  • Strong analytical, accounting and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Results oriented with ability to set realistic and attainable goals and meet those on time
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and personal integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting and/or business designation (CPA/MBA) a plus
  • Experience with JD Edwards a definite plus
  • Experience with OneStream a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Corporate Controller with the preparation of the Annual Budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Perform analysis on monthly financial results against budget and forecasts, including trend analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting package (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Inventory, reconciliations, etc.)
  • Provide support to the Corporate Controller with land acquisition analysis and review
  • Review and analyze land development budgets
  • Perform regular margin and cost analysis on homes sold and under construction
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Division’s house price worksheets (HPWs) and other supporting pricing tools for active communities and communities coming to market
  • Prepare and analyze pertinent schedules and compile supporting documents required for quarterly and annual audits
  • Prepare ad hoc reports requested by other Departments, Division Leadership, US Corporate and Mattamy Asset Management
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
