About The Position

The Financial Analyst supports the Chief Financial Officer by analyzing financial and operational data, building reports and models, and translating results into clear insights and KPIs for business partners and headquarters. This role is analytical in nature (not an accounting role) but requires a strong understanding of basic accounting and the month-end close process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a similar analytical finance role (retail and/or luxury strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required); must have knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and delivering accurate reporting to deadlines.
  • Experience working with headquarters or stakeholders in another country/time zone and meeting strict submission timelines (preferred).
  • Strong foundation in basic accounting and comfort partnering with Accounting during close (this is not an accounting role).
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (must be able to build and troubleshoot models; pivot tables; XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH; SUMIFS).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage deadlines—especially during month-end close.
  • Clear communicator able to translate financial results into KPIs and business commentary for cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail and/or luxury industry experience (strongly preferred).
  • Experience supporting budget/forecast cycles and building KPI dashboards for leadership.
  • Experience working with headquarters or global stakeholders in another country (e.g., France) and delivering reporting on time across time zones.
  • Experience with financial planning/reporting tools (e.g., Prophix) and ERP/accounting systems.
  • Power Query/Power Pivot, SQL, or other data tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze monthly P&L performance by channel and category; identify key drivers and risks/opportunities.
  • Prepare and enhance recurring management reporting, including KPI dashboards and variance commentary, in partnership with business owners.
  • Review actual vs. budget and actual vs. forecast variances for key expenses; investigate drivers and recommend actions.
  • Support the month-end close cycle by coordinating inputs, meeting deadlines, and ensuring reporting is accurate and delivered on time (peak workload during close).
  • Develop and maintain variance reporting and detailed analysis for month-end financial review; synthesize results into clear written and verbal narratives.
  • Assist in developing annual budget, periodic forecasts, and long-range plans, including scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Partner cross-functionally (e.g., Operations, Sales, Merchandising) to understand performance drivers and improve data quality and reporting cadence.
  • Prepare and submit timely reporting to headquarters (France), including variance explanations and business updates; coordinate across time zones and strict deadlines.
  • Build and improve automated reporting and forecasting tools in Excel to increase efficiency and accuracy (templates, models, and standard work).
  • Support team priorities as needed in a small, hands-on environment; contribute to special projects that may be outside of day-to-day responsibilities.
