About The Position

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Finance, the Financial Analyst serves as a key financial resource, responsible for the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial data. This role supports budgeting, financial planning, and operational decision-making by providing data-driven insights. The Financial Analyst collaborates with internal departments, external accounting partners, and leadership to enhance financial policies, improve internal controls, and ensure the financial health of the organization.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in financial management.
  • Ability to go through government security clearance process and obtain a CAC.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in healthcare finance or managed care.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the organization’s accounting firm and CFO, overseeing daily accounting operations and procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly supply and expense accrual entries.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to be provided to the accounting firm for entry into the company’s financial statements.
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by accounting firm, identifying and resolving reconciling items while escalating issues as necessary.
  • Review monthly financial statements, including the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement, researching variances and providing explanations.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, to be distributed to leadership and Board members.
  • Prepare schedules and reports for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee financial reporting related to USFHP subrogation cases, including preparing necessary documentation for legal and regulatory review.
  • Review and process annual USFHP Capital/Medical Education reimbursement requests submitted by network facilities.
  • Assist Property Manager with managing accounts receivable.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial records, beneficiary data, and sensitive business information.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of the annual budget, providing financial insights and variance analysis.
  • Track and analyze major expenses (e.g., capital expenditures, legal fees) to ensure financial oversight and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and implement improved expense tracking methods for enhanced financial management.
  • Compile, analyze, and present monthly financial and volume statistics for key programs and cost centers.
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews with department leads to analyze variances, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Propose financial policies and procedures to improve internal controls in collaboration with the accounting firm.
  • Contribute to special projects aimed at process improvements, operational efficiencies, and financial sustainability.
  • Partner with internal departments to provide financial guidance, supporting project management and operational decision-making.
  • Educate non-financial staff on financial reports and data interpretation to enhance organizational financial literacy.
  • Exhibit the values and philosophy of the organization’s mission statement in all interactions and cross-functional collaborations.
