About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Financial Analyst supports the organization’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes. The role works closely with program leadership and the accounting team to monitor financial performance, develop program and grant budgets, and support effective stewardship of both restricted and unrestricted funding. A key responsibility of this role is supporting the organization’s financial planning processes within NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB). The analyst will help maintain budget models, coordinate budget inputs from program teams, and support financial reporting and analysis using both NSPB and NetSuite ERP. This position serves as a bridge between finance and program teams, helping translate financial data into actionable insights that support programmatic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required
  • 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or FP&A
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in nonprofit finance, grant accounting, or program budgeting preferred
  • Experience working with NetSuite ERP and NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB) preferred, including supporting budgeting processes, financial reporting, dashboards, saved searches, and data extraction for analysis

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and consolidation of the organization’s annual operating budget within NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB)
  • Coordinate and enter budget inputs from program teams, ensuring alignment between NSPB and the NetSuite ERP general ledger
  • Maintain budget models within NSPB to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and long-range planning
  • Assist with the continued rollout and improvement of NSPB as program teams transition to entering and managing budgets within the system
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports using NetSuite reports, dashboards, and saved searches
  • Extract and analyze financial data from NetSuite to support internal reporting and decision-making
  • Partner with the accounting team to ensure financial data accuracy and proper coding of program and grant expenses
  • Monitor program financial performance and analyze variances between actual results and budget or forecast
  • Assist program leadership with grant proposal budgets, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting to funders
  • Monitor program burn rates and identify potential funding gaps, surpluses, or budget variances
  • Provide financial insights to program leadership to support effective program and grant management
  • Support the ongoing development of NetSuite dashboards, saved searches, and financial reporting tools
  • Assist with reconciliation and data alignment between NetSuite ERP and NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB)
  • Contribute to improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
