Financial Analyst
About The Position
We are currently searching for a Financial Analyst to support the Popular Association Banking team and to own a wide range of analysis and reporting. This includes ownership of monthly forecasting and the annual budget, delivering comprehensive material for monthly business reviews and the regular output of ad hoc analysis critical to timely decision making. The Financial Analyst will be located in the Miami Lakes office and be a member of the Bank’s central Finance team located in New York. In addition, this analyst will calculate earnings credit payments and help optimize the ECR program for Popular Association Banking.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- A minimum of 2+ years professional experience in corporate finance or accounting
- Must be an expert in Excel and proficient with PowerPoint
- Adept presentation skills with an ability to target messaging to different audiences
- Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks to meet extremely tight deadlines
- Able to articulate complex issues and themes to stakeholders
- Ability to connect the dots and make sense of information across multiple data points that may not be easily noticeable
- The candidate must provide evidence of academic preparation or courses related to the job posting, if necessary.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the Finance lead for Popular Association Banking, including ownership of all finance and reporting deliverables for the business unit along with ad hoc reporting and analysis.
- Assist with target setting and KPI tracking for the Popular Association Banking.
- Develop ad-hoc analytics and reporting to help the business better understand and manage its costs, risks, capital usage, pricing, growth opportunities, etc.
- Calculate ECR payments monthly
- New business and new opportunity tracking
- Analyze and report on client, segment, region, and product profitability
- Generate & propose key performance indicators
- Track and report progress against business/sales strategy
- Act as a trusted advisor and counterweight to management team
- Partner with SMT members to develop strategy for the business
- Own and ensure delivery of strategic business initiatives
- Business case development and validation
