About The Position

The Investment Solutions Controls team helps maintain a strong control environment for the Individual Wealth business by ensuring accounting transactions from administration systems to the General Ledger are accurate, timely, and complete. The team also monitors cash controls and supports accounting and reporting for Investment Solutions. Reporting to the Director, the Intermediate Financial Analyst supports complex reconciliation activities, investigates exceptions, and helps maintain a strong financial control environment within the Investment Solutions Controls team. Key responsibilities include managing feeder tolerance tables, handshake reports, error investigations, audit support, journal entries, wires, ICFR processes and General Ledger close activities. The ideal candidate is collaborative, client-focused, efficiency-minded, and open to innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 2–3 years of progressive accounting and/or financial reporting experience
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to investigate and resolve exceptions accurately
  • Owner’s mindset, including being self-directed, adaptable, proactive, and collaborative in a changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation, or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of administration systems such as Prism, Ingenium, and LA is an asset
  • Proficiency in Excel and Copilot, with working knowledge of internal controls and financial close processes; experience with reporting tools or systems is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Deliver daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting requirements, including reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
  • Investigate reconciling items, cash exceptions, out-of-balance conditions, and operational issues, partnering with internal stakeholders to support timely resolution
  • Analyze accounting transactions and feeder system outputs to confirm completeness and accuracy in the General Ledger
  • Monitor accounting reports, resolve errors, and maintain strong financial discipline
  • Prepare and approve manual journal entries and daily wires
  • Provide regulatory, external, and internal audit support by supplying requested documentation and explanations
  • Design and deploy practical process enhancements and leverage automation to drive productivity
  • Follow established procedures and controls to consistently execute daily, monthly, and ad hoc accounting activities
  • Escalate exceptions, control concerns, and unresolved reconciling items promptly to support issue resolution and risk management
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and team members to support collaboration and service delivery
  • Maintain accurate supporting documentation and contribute to current procedural materials that support consistency and cross-training
