About The Position

The Associate Financial Analyst assists finance functions by preparing routine financial analyses, reports, and forecasts that inform business planning and performance management. Assists with monthly close and variance analysis, helping to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across revenue and expense drivers. Works with cross-functional stakeholders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of planning deliverables. Work is performed with guidance and established methodologies while building foundational finance skills and business acumen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Less than 1 year of experience and broad theoretical knowledge in financial planning and analysis typically obtained through advanced education.
  • Ability to apply foundational finance concepts to prepare routine variance analyses, forecasts, and performance summaries with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) to organize data, build basic models, and create clear tables and charts for stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and core accounting concepts to interpret results and support data validation.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly in writing and verbally, tailoring detail to the audience and purpose.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, follow established processes, and maintain accurate documentation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners to gather inputs, confirm assumptions, and resolve data questions.

Responsibilities

  • Supports monthly and quarterly reporting processes by preparing standard management reports, dashboards, and KPI summaries.
  • Assists with budget and forecast cycles by collecting inputs, maintaining templates, and consolidating submissions for review.
  • Performs routine variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods; escalates notable drivers and anomalies to leadership.
  • Maintains and updates basic financial models to support forecasting, headcount planning, and expense tracking.
  • Partners with accounting and business teams to validate financial data, reconcile key metrics, and support close-related activities.
  • Prepares ad hoc analyses to support operational decisions, including trend analysis, cost reviews, and scenario comparisons.
  • Documents assumptions, methodologies, and process steps to promote transparency, repeatability, and audit readiness.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying reporting/process inefficiencies and assisting with automation and standardization initiatives.
