About The Position

As the Financial Analyst, North America Agriculture & Commodity Finance you will be responsible for supporting the preparation of financial forecasts, performing financial analysis, and providing sufficient periodic financial information and solutions to support the Agriculture and Commodity group as well business segments in US/CAN (F&II, T&HS, Protein Fortification) and globally for decision-making processes related to segment strategy and business objectives. Role will report to Manager, US/Canada Agriculture and Commodity Finance.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or MBA a plus
  • Have 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, accounting, or auditing, preferably at a public company
  • Be able to analyze financial results and assess financial/strategic impacts of business decisions.
  • Have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Have strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. In this role, you must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused, and concise manner
  • Have strong computer skills with knowledge in the use of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Have a demonstrated ability to plan & coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Have a working knowledge of cash flow, balance sheet and income statement analysis, and budgeting process
  • Have experience working with SAP, SAP BW, SAP BPS/BI-IP and SAC strongly preferred
  • Be a dedicated team player with innovative mind-set to develop and implement internal process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Deliver topline and cost inputs for forecasts aligned to current marketplace indices and the terms of existing contracts; provide guidance / counsel on impacts of market volatility and current commodity status as part of the financial planning/forecasting process
  • Drive improvements in forecast accuracy and finance-related net corn management processes; collaborate with global Agriculture and Commodity teams to develop more rigorous financial planning/forecasting acumen on raw material inputs and co-products pricing
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual segment forecasting and budgeting reports for management review related to raw materials and overall net corn impact working closely with Segment FP&A teams
  • Collaborate with US/CAN Agriculture and Commodity team, the US/CAN Commodity Committee, as well as commercial and Operations Finance team members in multiple business segments to align on strategic decisions with regards to commodity purchases, markets/environment, impact on regional cost structure and related customer pricing decisions
  • Establish linkage to F&II, T&HS and Protein fee customer pricing impacts of net corn changes; provide ownership and execution of raw material impacts and hedging impacts to financial forecasting
  • Support improving global consistency for financial analysis techniques and financial reports for Raw Material Expense
  • Provide necessary financial data to support and facilitate the day-to-day operations and long-term decision making across multiple business segments with opportunities to standardize globally
  • Navigate SAP and BW systems to extract detailed insights to business results and summarize for enhanced managerial reporting across multiple stakeholders and business segments
  • Work on special projects focused on accounting, financial analysis, financial forecasting, or financial reporting as required with specific focus on raw material impact on product/segment profitability
  • Ability to deal effectively with dynamic change and support the business teams to deliver results timely and accurately.
  • Identifies areas that can be improved and constructively proposes new solutions that increase value and improve business performance
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers that will help facilitate effective decision making.
  • Develop credibility and build partnerships with key contacts within the business segment teams and with both Corporate and Segment Finance teams

  • Harmonize data, KPIs and processes to benchmark costs across regions

  • Keep appraised of business developments to assess financial impacts, make value-added recommendations, and prepare ad hoc analyses for executive team.
