About The Position

SkyBridge Tactical is seeking three experienced Financial Analysts to support a Department of Defense customer in the San Diego, California area. The successful candidates will perform budget and financial management, analysis, and reporting functions in support of the organization's Total Obligation Authority (TOA). These are full-time, primarily onsite positions with identical scope and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET security clearance at the time of employment.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • At least 4 years of specialized experience in DoD budget planning and formulation, or a related budget field.
  • Demonstrated experience with budget execution, spend plans, funding requests, financial reporting, and fiscal compliance.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to support seamless staff coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with current military concepts and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification per the DoD FM Certification Program Handbook, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience supporting Naval Special Warfare or a comparable Special Operations Forces organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop spend plans to support annual and multi-year budget submissions in accordance with customer timelines.
  • Monitor budget execution to identify spending trends, potential shortfalls, or surpluses, ensuring the proper and legal use of funds.
  • Analyze execution trends and deliver data-driven recommendations to leadership to help meet established Command obligation targets.
  • Compile financial data from joint and service-level financial databases to prepare recurring and ad-hoc budget reports.
  • Prepare budget exhibits utilizing prescribed DoD templates, ensuring supporting documentation adequately justifies budget submissions.
  • Analyze and process funding requests, verifying fiscal compliance (e.g., proper color of money, bona fide need rule) and assigning correct financial accounting structure per local business rules.
  • Draft reports, manage spreadsheets, and build briefings using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
