About The Position

We are a national, nonprofit organization established in 1929 by a special Act of Parliament to oversee the medical education of specialists in Canada. Reporting to the Controller, Financial Services, the Financial Analyst provides financial and analytical support to the Controller, Finance Business Partners (FBPs), and Director of Finance and Administration. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information through analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, and investment accounting. The Financial Analyst supports the budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes for the Royal College, RCI (Royal College International), The Foundation (RCF) and the Employees’ Retirement (Pension) Plan (ERP) contributing to effective financial management and decision-making. As a Financial Analyst supporting the Finance team, you'll play a key role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses across multiple entities. Working closely with the Controller, you'll be responsible for investment accounting, compliance and reporting, prepare financial reports for leadership, and support budgeting, forecasting, and annual external audits. You'll also contribute to continuous improvements that strengthen financial reporting and processes.
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
- Advance knowledge of Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a not-for-profit environment
- Knowledge of MS 365 collaboration tools
- Experience with Business Central
- Experience with investment accounting
- French verbal and written communication skills
