About The Position

The position is responsible for the support of the Medical Group’s financial operations, with a particular focus on all aspects of physician compensation, performance management, and reporting. This role is crucial for accurately and timely processing physician compensation in accordance with their employment agreements. Additionally, the position will involve the analysis and monitoring of charge capture data, claim adjustments, and payments as they relate to wRVU calculations within EPIC and the Integrated Analytics reporting system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field (finance or accounting degrees preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years of healthcare finance or revenue cycle reporting experience.
  • High level of literacy with software/databases, including prior experience importing & exporting, and analyzing files with large datasets.
  • Demonstrated abilities using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (complex formulas, look-ups, IF statements, and pivot tables).
  • Professional and courteous interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the master physician employment contractual summaries for reporting, statistical analyses, and benchmarking.
  • Maintains physician employment contracts.
  • Extracts, validates, and analyzes provider productivity and financial data using EPIC, Excel, and other decision support software.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual provider compensation calculations and adjustments.
  • Performs month-end financial close functions to calculate and accrue physician bonuses and non-standard compensation payments.
  • Evaluates and monitors the accuracy and completeness of physician productivity measures (unadjusted to adjusted wRVUs) by understanding Revenue Cycle Management processes.
  • Provides ongoing support for compensation calculations, reporting, and support system functionality.
  • Handles complex compensation calculations and produces clear, detailed compensation statements for physicians.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, administrators, and practice managers regarding physician compensation matters.
  • Processes payroll adjustment forms (PTAF forms) and Check Requests as needed.
  • Supports Stamford Health’s participation in annual MGMA, AMGA, and Sullivan and Cotter Compensation and Production Surveys.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Completes required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
