About The Position

This role focuses on the proactive maintenance of accounting functions at plant locations, including day-to-day operations related to inventory management and costing. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the plant manager to enhance financial visibility at the plant level.

Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting required.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze and interpret data required.
  • Familiarly with General Accounting required (A/P, Payroll, General Ledger).
  • Solid PC and mainframe software skills (MS Office, MRP, Ledger, Query) required.
  • Constant sitting, cervical spine motion, simple grasp, and fine manipulation.
  • Frequent reaching.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and balancing.
  • Minimal lifting and carrying 1-5 lbs. 1-25 feet.
  • Push/pull 1-10 lbs. 1-5 feet.

Nice To Haves

  • CMA/CPA certificate a plus.
  • MBA Degree a plus.
  • Manufacturing cost experience (2-3 years) preferred.
  • Cost analysis in a manufacturing/machining environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience in standard cost systems strongly preferred.
  • QAD experience a plus.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in standard cost rate development a plus.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in cost quote development a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial support for capital development projects from approval to installation.
  • Responsible for accurate recording of manufacturing and overhead costs.
  • Analyze variances, monthly operating results, and key operating measures, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports of manufacturing results and performance.
  • Assist local management in identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities.
  • Assist division accounting personnel in the monthly closing process, including recording recurring expenses like depreciation, taxes, and insurance for the location.
  • Assist in both internal and external audits.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls exist and are utilized at the plant level, identifying areas of weakness and assisting local management in implementing corrective action.
  • Assist local management in developing monthly forecasts and annual plans.
  • Participate as a member of the plant manager's staff through involvement in regular staff meetings and month-end management review meetings.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset System for the location.
  • Analyze inventory variances/transactions and the inventory control cycle count program.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.
