Department Financial Analyst - Senior
About The Position
The City of Surprise is seeking a Financial Analyst - Senior to play a central role in developing and managing department budgets and analyzing complex financial data for the Water Resource Management Department. This role is ideal for someone with strong skills in Excel and Access database management, for purposes of reconciling data from multiple sources and translating complex financial information into clear deliverables. The position is in a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment where Finance is a strategic partner. The role involves digging into details, improving processes, and using technical skills to support responsible growth and high-quality public services, offering the opportunity to make a visible and lasting impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- Five years of professional experience in accounting, contract administration, financial cost analysis, auditing, budget preparation, or a closely related financial/fiscal activity.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Strong skills in Excel.
- Strong skills in Access database management.
