Financial Analyst - Project Finance

Giga EnergyHouston, TX
Onsite

About The Position

As Financial Analyst, Project Finance, you'll sit at the center of how Giga structures, finances, and manages infrastructure projects — from AI data center developments to powered land and OEM deployments. This isn't just a reporting role. You'll build the deal-level financial models that determine how we finance assets, what returns look like for investors and lenders, and how we structure capital across a growing portfolio of projects. If you want to work on real transactions at the intersection of energy infrastructure and AI, this is that role.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure finance (data centers/ hyperscalers), energy finance, investment banking (power/utilities/infrastructure coverage), or a high-growth corporate finance function with project-level modeling exposure.
  • Strong project-level financial modeling skills including debt sizing, cash flow waterfall modeling, IRR analysis, and sensitivity scenarios.
  • Understanding of project finance structures including construction financing, term loans, tax equity, DSCR covenants, and equity return frameworks.
  • Ability to read and interpret project documents including EPC contracts, offtake agreements, interconnection agreements, and land leases to extract financial assumptions.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; ability to build and own complex project models independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can explain deal economics to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in energy, data centers, power generation, or infrastructure project finance specifically.
  • Exposure to tax equity structures including HLBV, ITC/PTC transactions, or partnership flip models.
  • Familiarity with DSCR modeling, reserve accounts, and lender due diligence processes.
  • Experience supporting a company through a project financing close or capital raise as an internal team member.
  • MBA or CFA designation.
  • Proficiency with BI or financial planning tools such as Tableau, Mosaic, or Anaplan.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own project-level financial models for Giga's infrastructure deployments including AI data center sites, powered land transactions, and OEM projects.
  • Model debt and equity capital structures, cash flow waterfalls, IRR and return on investment analyses, and sensitivity scenarios for individual projects.
  • Support project-level underwriting and investment committee presentations for new development opportunities.
  • Maintain and update financial models and budgets as projects progress from development through construction, service, and operations.
  • Analyze capital equipment BOMs for financial model inputs and integrity.
  • Support structuring and execution of project finance transactions including construction loans, term loans, tax equity, and other project-level capital structures.
  • Assist in preparation of lender and investor materials including information memoranda, financial projections, and due diligence packages.
  • Coordinate with legal, engineering, and operations teams to ensure financial models reflect project-level assumptions accurately.
  • Track debt covenants, reporting requirements, and ongoing lender relationships across the project portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and portfolio dashboards tracking financial performance, construction milestones, and capital deployment against plan.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project-level financial reports for internal leadership and external capital partners.
  • Identify and quantify project-level risks including cost overruns, schedule delays, offtake risk, and supply chain exposure.
  • Support development of standard financial models and templates that can be replicated across new project types as Giga scales.
  • Partner closely with the development, engineering, legal, and operations teams to translate project plans into accurate financial models.
  • Support Head of Project Finance on structuring new deal types as Giga enters new markets and product categories.
  • Contribute to development of Giga's project finance playbook and standard deal structures.
