Financial Analyst - Post Award Grants Management

About The Position

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Cell Biology Finance Team. This role is responsible for monitoring and reviewing all financial activities and grants management oversight for a Principal Investigator Portfolio. Key responsibilities include sponsored projects management, preparing and distributing financial portfolios, effort review and reporting, budget and subcontract preparation, and grant account setup and closeout. The Financial Analyst will also handle ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 1-3 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Superior communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service and problem solving skill sets.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Comprehensive understanding of research administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Uniform Guidance and other research regulatory requirements specifically the Uniform Administrative Requirements Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Daily financial management of all grant accounts.
  • Prepare financial portfolios for investigators (financial summary and detailed financial statements with projections).
  • Prepare project budgets for newly awarded grants, new budget periods, and subcontract arrangements.
  • Reallocate and process personnel effort onto and off grant accounts.
  • Review time and effort allocation with all grant related personnel and assist with effort certification.
  • Assist with progress report submissions (verification of effort and budget for new budget period).
  • Assist investigators with all sponsor audits/questions, process and documentation.
  • Facilitate financial closeout of grant accounts to sponsors.
