About the Role The Financial Analyst, Investments is a key contributor within the Ventas Investments group, supporting the underwriting, due diligence, approval, and closing of healthcare real estate transactions focused on senior housing. This lean, high‑performing deal team evaluates opportunities ranging from single‑asset investments to multi‑billion‑dollar portfolio transactions across senior housing, outpatient medical, life sciences, and other healthcare verticals. The Financial Analyst will work directly with investments team leadership, senior management and cross‑functional partners in a fast-paced, analytical, and deadline‑driven environment. The successful candidates will be joining a very active investments platform, with Ventas having completed > $4 billion in new investments since 4Q24.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related analytical field.
  • 1+ years of experience in financial analysis, commercial real estate, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or related analytical disciplines.
  • Must be located in the Chicago, IL or New York, NY surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Argus, SQL, or financial modeling tools is a plus.
  • Strong quantitative, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • High sense of urgency, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models to support acquisitions, joint ventures, developments, redevelopments, and debt investments.
  • Lead valuation analyses and sensitization of key transaction assumptions and risk drivers.
  • Assist in designing and structuring asset, portfolio, and entity-level transactions of varying complexity that achieve investment criteria and satisfy counterparty need
  • Conduct detailed due diligence, including operator/tenant financial assessments, market analyses, and site visits.
  • Synthesize findings and present underwriting conclusions to senior leadership.
  • Partner with brokers, sellers, and investment bankers to refine assumptions and validate transaction data.
  • Support Corporate Finance to ensure accurate integration of transaction economics into Ventas’s financial projections.
  • Prepare materials for executive approval, investment committee review, and closing processes.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management to support a smooth integration of acquired assets post‑closing.
