About The Position

Ascensus is a leading independent technology and service platform for savings plans. This internship program offers practical corporate work experience that could lead to full-time employment after graduation. The company is seeking students entering their senior year, graduating in the spring of 2027. This is a hybrid position in Lake Mary, FL, with a shift from 9 am to 5 pm, 40 hours per week, running from June to August, and paying $21 per hour. The Financial Analyst Intern will support the Financial Services Team by preparing plan design proposals and conducting financial analyses related to the funding of non-qualified executive benefit programs. The internship aims to provide hands-on exposure to financial analysis and develop strong analytical, technical, and professional skills.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic modeling)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to collaborate with others and adapt to change
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and adjust to change in priorities

  • Maintain an uninterrupted virtual workspace and have family care in place during business hours (for virtual/remote components)
  • Meet an internet work speed requirement of 25 Mbps or better for individual use (stronger connection if multiple users in household/building)
  • For call center roles specifically, hardwire equipment directly to the internet router or ensure workstation is in close proximity to the router

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Senior Financial Analysts and Financial Service Directors to assist with financial modeling and forecasting of non-qualified benefit plans, including deferred compensation and supplemental executive retirement plans.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses to support business and operational efficiencies.
  • Assist in data collection, validation, and reconciliation from multiple sources.
  • Participate in special projects to enhance productivity/efficiency and the suite of non-qualified services and reporting.
  • Help to develop dashboards and reports for management.
  • Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data held by Newport to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or clients.
