About The Position

This is a working-level position performed under general supervision. Incumbents complete professional assignments involving accounting, bank reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting in accordance with established guidelines, policies, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles. The position is a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days, requiring two days a week in the office. If working remotely, employees must provide internet service of sufficient speed to support all work-related applications, systems, and devices. The eligibility for remote work is subject to change at the agency's discretion. A criminal history check is required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounting, banking practices, financial reporting, mathematics, and English language principles
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and communicate financial information effectively through written and verbal communication
  • Skilled in critical thinking, problem-solving, reasoning, data analysis, and applying accounting principles to identify issues and recommend solutions
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, maintain accurate records, and communicate clearly with others
  • A high school diploma is required

  • Additional education or experience in accounting, finance, or a related field may be preferred

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and analyzing financial records, statements, reconciliations, and reports
  • Researching discrepancies
  • Identifying issues and recommending solutions
  • Supporting audits
  • Assisting with financial system improvements
  • Manages accounting activities and records financial transactions in Vantage
  • Researches and reviews financial records, returned checks, discrepancies, reports, and other problem areas
  • Prepares, develops, and interprets fiscal statements and reports
  • Reconciles bank statements and financial reports
  • Reviews fiscal operations to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and internal controls
  • Analyzes, summarizes, and reviews financial data; reports findings, interprets results, and makes recommendations
