About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a full-time Financial Analyst II for the Fiscal Services department at Morristown Medical Center. The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting financial data, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring the hospital's financial health. The ideal candidate is curious about numbers, data, business, and healthcare; an operations-based mindset is a plus. This role is a balance between financial analysis, business strategy, and implementation planning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CFO and Finance team to develop, monitor, and analyze financial performance metrics, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Generate detailed financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, variance analyses, and trend reports.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Assist in preparation of annual operating budget for the site. Work with the budget analyst and CFO in troubleshooting any issues.
  • Work with the accounting team to facilitate month end close and variance reporting.
  • Utilize HBI/HPM cost accounting system to provide contribution margin analysis reports to aid in strategic decision making.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of strategic financial plans, capital expenditure proposals, and business cases for new initiatives.
  • Provide support in evaluating the financial impact of potential contracts, partnerships, and business development opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) related to hospital operations, revenue generation, and expense management.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across various departments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial presentations for executive leadership and board meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial models and scenarios to support long-term financial planning and risk assessment.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process, providing insights and recommendations to align budget allocations with strategic goals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in healthcare finance.
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as directed by the CFO.
  • Analyze the productivity metrics across MMC.
  • Assist in implementation and completion of any external benchmarking engagement.
  • Utilize external benchmarks to drive productivity across the system.
  • Assist (as needed) with on-site productivity meetings with department leadership and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
