About The Position

The Financial Analyst II is responsible for analytically reviewing financial performance indicators and providing financial guidance, direction, support, and training to assigned areas. The role supports process improvement and cost-benefit analysis, reviews business trends and performance, and prepares financial analyses and reports to inform management decisions. The position requires meeting strict management deadlines while working with limited resources. It reports directly to an assigned manager or director.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field; alternatively, an associate degree with 2 years of experience or 4 years of experience.
Advanced personal computer skills using Excel and financial analyst software.
Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work with limited resources.

Nice To Haves

Two years of public accounting and/or private industry experience.
A minor in statistics.
CPA or MBA.
Knowledge of healthcare terminology, issues, and reimbursement.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze operational business trends, identify areas of concern or strong performance related to economic performance and productivity, investigate unusual variances, and coordinate communication with department managers and upper management to resolve issues.
Perform cost-benefit analyses for business and equipment proposals.
Coordinate with responsible managers to gather accurate data and present pro formas with detailed calculations, assumptions, and recommendations.
Assist with annual strategic planning and budget projections as needed.
Prepare special reports as requested.
Prepare special cost studies analyzing operational areas and provide information to support managerial decisions.
Meet deadlines set by management.
