Coordinates and provides financial information to management by planning, developing, interpreting, monitoring, processing and reporting financial information for use by management. The Financial Analyst II position is a professional role responsible for performing a variety of financial analysis, reporting, and support activities. Key responsibilities include: Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the development, monitoring, and analysis of budgets for the General Fund, Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and grant-funded projects. Cost of Service: Support cost-of-service studies by gathering financial data, performing calculations, and assisting in the development of cost recovery recommendations. Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare routine and ad-hoc financial reports; analyze financial data to support operational and management decision-making. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure financial transactions and reports adhere to City policies, procedures, and applicable regulations; maintain accurate financial records. Variance & Trend Monitoring: Review financial activity to identify variances, trends, and potential issues, and recommend corrective actions when needed. Process Support & Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams such as Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and operational divisions to support financial processes and resolve inquiries. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial systems, business intelligence, and financial analysis tools. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with complex financial data, communicating findings clearly, and contributing to a collaborative, service-oriented work environment.
