About The Position

MGB Emergency Medicine serves nearly 500,000 patients annually, primarily through its 10 emergency department locations, and manages a diverse and complex portfolio of sponsored and non-sponsored research programs, training programs, and a variety of services and initiatives that support all mission areas of MGB EM. The Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the team, collaborating with financial leadership to manage expenses, report monthly financials, and track clinical commitments. Supports financial decision making by monitoring deadlines; collecting, summarizing, and consolidating data; allocating variances; analyzing and interpreting data; making comparative analyses; explaining data and assumptions; researching and correcting variance problems; assembling and analyzing historical financial data; explaining data and assumptions.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
Experience in accounting or finance 2-3 years required
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Good analytical and mathematical skills.
Superior Excel Skills is required.
Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a role within a large healthcare organization 1-2 years preferred

Responsibilities

Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management
Support the on-boarding of junior analysts by mentoring and assisting them
Track key performance indicators, prepare financial reports and sometimes present them
Create ad-hoc reports and perform financial analysis
Assists project teams with financial guidance
Reviews financial reporting and ensures data integrity to enable management decisions.
Ensures compliance with financial guidelines, company policies and regulations
