About The Position

The Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing the operating budget, maintaining profitability models, reporting program analysis, and conducting ad hoc reporting as needed. Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all internal members (co-workers). Adhere to all policies, procedures, State Laws, and Regulations.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • Superior computer skills with advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Project management skills for managing long-term projects to timely and successful completion.
  • Performs all aspects of work with a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of, and follow the requirements of all regulation compliance, including but not limited to those of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to their job functions.
  • Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers and prepares the monthly ALCO presentation and supporting documentation.
  • Prepares and submits quarterly ALM data files to third-party vendors.
  • Responds to ad hoc data requests from senior management and department heads.
  • Performs trend analysis and variance reporting.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of all reporting materials.
  • Effectively works with department managers and senior management to prepare the annual budget.
  • Provides recommendations for loan and deposit growth.
  • Compiles organization data, analyzes historical results and evaluates economic and market conditions to prepare forecasts and projections.
  • Prepares what-if modeling for the annual strategic planning session and as needed for the executive team.
  • Researches monthly operating budget variance and monitors cost analysis for new projects.
  • Provides variance explanations to management.
  • Participates in quarterly budget variance meetings with managers.
  • Updates and maintains the credit union's branch, product, and member profitability models, assumptions, allocations, and funds transfer pricing accuracy.
  • Prepare and distribute profitability reports to department managers and the senior leadership team.
  • Participates in Retail Management Profitability meetings.
  • Compiles and submits collateral files monthly to secure lines of credit.
  • Assists with the Federal Reserve Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank audits.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Director of Finance.
