About The Position

We are seeking a Mid‑Level Financial Management Analyst/Consultant to support the Department of the Navy and NAVWAR in Washington, D.C. This is a full‑time, onsite position located at the Washington Navy Yard. In this role, you will work alongside a team of consultants to deliver high‑quality accounting and financial management support to government clients. The position requires a balance of independent execution and daily collaboration with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
3–7 years of Navy/DoD financial management or relevant federal consulting experience
Ability to obtain a SECRET government security clearance (TS/SCI may be required for select projects)
Non-U.S. citizens are ineligible.
Adherence to federal laws prohibiting marijuana use (recreational, medical, or CBD).

Nice To Haves

Strongly preferred: Department of the Navy experience, including accounting, finance, consulting, NAVWAR financial systems, and PPBE processes
Experience with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N‑ERP) preferred
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (daily use)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced environments, both independently and as part of a team
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with minimal supervision
Ability to quickly learn new systems, tools, and processes
High attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

Enter, maintain, and analyze financial data in government systems (e.g., Navy ERP, Standard Procurement System, and successor systems)
Assist with budget formulation, cost tracking, and variance analysis
Measure organizational performance and evaluate program or policy impacts on budget execution
Research financial and economic trends affecting funding and expenditures
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures governing budget formulation and maintenance
Manage multiple funding types and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
Prepare and present financial budgets, reports, analyses, and executive‑level summaries
Develop recommendations and courses of action (COAs) to address financial challenges
Interpret and apply financial management policies, regulations, and strategic objectives
