About The Position

We are seeking a Mid‑Level Financial Management Analyst/Consultant to support the Department of the Navy and NAVWAR in Washington, D.C. This is a full‑time, onsite position located at the Washington Navy Yard. In this role, you will work alongside a team of consultants to deliver high‑quality accounting and financial management support to government clients. The position requires a balance of independent execution and daily collaboration with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 3–7 years of Navy/DoD financial management or relevant federal consulting experience
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET government security clearance (TS/SCI may be required for select projects)
  • Non-U.S. citizens are ineligible.
  • Adherence to federal laws prohibiting marijuana use (recreational, medical, or CBD).

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly preferred: Department of the Navy experience, including accounting, finance, consulting, NAVWAR financial systems, and PPBE processes
  • Experience with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N‑ERP) preferred
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (daily use)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced environments, both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, tools, and processes
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Enter, maintain, and analyze financial data in government systems (e.g., Navy ERP, Standard Procurement System, and successor systems)
  • Assist with budget formulation, cost tracking, and variance analysis
  • Measure organizational performance and evaluate program or policy impacts on budget execution
  • Research financial and economic trends affecting funding and expenditures
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures governing budget formulation and maintenance
  • Manage multiple funding types and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and present financial budgets, reports, analyses, and executive‑level summaries
  • Develop recommendations and courses of action (COAs) to address financial challenges
  • Interpret and apply financial management policies, regulations, and strategic objectives
