About The Position

Moog in East Aurora, New York is looking for a Financial Analyst who will support the Commercial Aftermarket business through financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and business insights that enable informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in finance, accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), auditing, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of data and identify meaningful insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and financial acumen.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and build effective working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools preferred.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Commercial Aftermarket business by providing financial analysis, reporting, and recommendations that help drive business performance.
  • Partner with functional teams to understand business drivers, operational performance, and financial results.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze financial and operational data to prepare monthly and quarterly management reports.
  • Perform variance analysis against prior periods, forecasts, plans, and budgets, identifying key drivers and trends.
  • Support the forecasting and budgeting processes through analysis, financial modeling, and scenario evaluation.
  • Maintain and enhance standard reporting tools, dashboards, and performance metrics to improve visibility into business performance.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Support ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, business cases, and profitability assessments.
  • Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes, data quality, and financial controls.
  • Prepare presentations and summaries that clearly communicate financial results, trends, risks, and opportunities to management.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline reporting, eliminate manual processes, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial analysis.
