Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting with one year of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ability to research and implement new guidance and internal controls.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or consolidation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret financial activity within the ERP system and determine appropriate accounting treatment based on established policies while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Recognize inconsistencies, control gaps, or unusual account activity. Conduct initial analysis to understand potential causes and recommend next steps, escalating items that require deeper review or policy interpretation.
  • Prepare accruals, complete assigned reconciliations, and analyze account activity to identify variances. Apply accounting concepts to determine whether balances appear reasonable and flag items needing further investigation.
  • Load monthly results into consolidation tools, review for accuracy, and research routine discrepancies. Resolve straightforward issues independently and escalate complex or cross functional matters.
  • Prepare supporting schedules, contribute to monthly financial statement packages, and perform basic variance analysis to highlight unusual trends or activity for review by more senior analysts.
  • Prepare audit ready workpapers, gather supporting documentation, and explain accounting treatments within the scope of established policies. Use judgment to determine appropriate support and escalate questions as needed.
